Doug McDaniel, Fire Chief

The Fire Chief plans, directs, and reviews activities of personnel performing fire inspection, prevention, suppression, and emergency services; initiates and advises on the development of ordinances and regulations; revises, develops, and enforces local fire, building, zoning, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and rental housing codes. He directs the preparation of reports for township officials; prepares department budget estimates; supervises the preparation and maintenance of records and reports; prepares long-range plans for the development of the department; meets with community groups and officials to explain and improve departmental programs; prepares specifications for fire apparatus; directs firefighting; supervises subordinate officers in the development and operation of fire training and fire prevention programs.

Greg Gould, Assistant Fire Chief

The role of the Assistant Fire Chief is to assist in planning, directing, and reviewing the activities and operations of the Fire Department including fire suppression, hazardous material mitigation, fire prevention, life safety code compliance, public safety education, emergency medical services, emergency management, and administrative support services. He assists in coordinating assigned activities with other township departments and outside agencies; and to provide highly responsible and complex executive level support to the Fire Chief as a member of the Fire Chief’s management team.

Ben Shideler, Captain

The EMS Captain is responsible for the organization and coordination of emergency medical service (EMS) programs to ensure effective and efficient service delivery in compliance with federal and state laws and regulations and to ensure expenses and revenues are properly managed.  This position is responsible for overseeing, evaluating and coordinating the actions of personnel engaged in EMS operations in cooperation with the Fire Chief and Assistant Fire Chief. He performs other related duties as assigned and contributes to the overall effectiveness of the department.
